Evan Nathaniel Grim
Interview with Astrology Expert Evan Nathaniel Grim
Hi Evan, please tell us a little about you?
I am a full-time astrologer who essentially stumbled into the profession after
getting a concussion at a nightclub in New York, which eventually led me to a
spiritual awakening and a disillusionment with my career as a digital
strategist and data analyst. I also am an avid musician and have been
performing and songwriting for two decades.
Shortly after my concussion in New York, I collected a Labradorite crystal
unwittingly and then began connecting with a tree on the East River in
Manhattan. These mystifying experiences compounded when I moved to Los Angeles,
and a friend recommended astrology to me. I immersed myself in every book I
could find, and within four months, I had a sufficient level of understanding
to accurately read people’s birth charts. A few months later, I launched my own
astrology practice. Some astrologers say you need 5–10 years of preparation to
go full-time, but I firmly believe I reawakened skills from a past life and
bypassed this arbitrary expectation.

Describe yourself in 3 words.
Relentless, Open-Minded, and Creative
What’s the most common misconception about astrology you encounter, and how
do you respond to it?
That astrology is only based on your sun sign. I find myself dispelling that
rumor almost every day when skeptics take this angle to attack astrology.
Astrology is a cosmic symphony more than anything, tracking the motion and
positions of all the celestial bodies at once. In truth, astrology grounds
itself in many of the same observational principles as astronomy, the
difference being that astrology posits there is a correlation between planetary
positioning and human behavior (as well as collective evolution).
A skilled astrologer, like Evan Nathaniel Grim, can
interpret the combination of these celestial influences and pinpoint specific
ages or even days when someone moved homes, got a divorce, received a promotion,
and more. I’m also hopeful that the misconception about astrology will
dissipate as society embraces the intuitive arts in the wake of science’s
failure to articulate the experiences of the human soul.
